First contact on ChitChat

Join browser chat, find a room, and understand where your account lives.

Establish a connection

  1. Open ChitChat from the channel briefing.
  2. Follow the account options shown at the entrance.
  3. Choose a room and read the conversation before joining in.
  4. Use direct messages when the conversation belongs with one person rather than the room.

ChitChat runs in your browser. You do not need to wait for the Android application to use it. It supports rooms, direct messages, and attachments.

Accounts and company

Follow ChitChat's own sign-in and account instructions. The station homepage has no shared login, and your mailbox or BBS credentials are not automatically chat credentials.

Treat rooms as shared spaces. Check who will receive a message or attachment before sending it. If something goes wrong, record the time, room or action, and visible error for a problem report, without copying other people's private messages.

First contact need not be elaborate. A greeting has an excellent reliability record.
